heard a snippet of Pastor Alistair Begg on the radio on the way into work this morning. He was quoting Charles Studd: “Some want to live within the sound of church or chapel bell; I want to run a rescue shop within a yard of hell.”
I think i originally misheard him – or my mind just swapped words to a scenario I was all too familiar with from my time at church: “Some want to volunteer at a ministry booth within their church; I want to run a rescue shop within a yard of hell.”
There’s something to be said for the poetry of the original quote. :D
